Kind of a bizarre exercise going on over at ESPN.com, they have 4 guys drafting teams with a 40 million dollar budget (it’s like something we would do). One of their “experts” is the brilliant Steve Phillips, and through 15 rounds, he has a 34 million dollar payroll. He still has to draft 40% of his roster, yet only has 6 million to spend. And my favorite part is he spent 6.25 million on Jonathan Papelbon with his most recent pick. That’s right, almost 15% of his payroll spent on a fucking closer. This man used to run a major league baseball team, like a real baseball team.

Anyway, Bo, I think we should do something like this. I don’t know how we can make it work, but whatever we do, I’m gonna win. And I’ll whip your ass too, Jayson Stark.
