Shut Up, Mo Williams

I’m all for Lebron making guarantees if he feels compelled to do so, but Mo Williams? Seriously? What would Jordan have done if Toni Kukoc started talking trash in the press like he was Muhammad Ali or something? My guess is he would’ve first told him to shut the fuck up, and then if that failed, either beat the shit out of him or had him traded. If your team has a superstar/alpha dog type player on it, then you need to let that guy choose to talk or not talk, you don’t start talking for him. The main person this puts pressure on is Lebron, and he doesn’t get any of the credit he’d get if he’d made the guarantee himself. The bottom line is no matter how well Mo Williams plays, the Cavs’ championship hopes rest on the back of Lebron. The talent gap between their best and second best player is bigger than that of any legitimate title contender I can remember, and yet that second best player decides he needs to start throwing around guarantees?
