Well, since my baseball preview was sort of shitty and disjointed, I wanted to take the time to actually explain some of my picks. I think Bo did a good job going team by team, so I’m not going to be redundant. I’m going to give a few thoughts on each division, but mainly I’m [...]

I’m sorry I never got a chance to complete my thoughts that I began on Friday, but I’m just going to get up my picks for now and then hopefully explain them in the coming days. I figured people wouldn’t be able to sleep at night, though, if I didn’t get this up on Opening [...]

NL: Diamondbacks over Cubs, Mets over Dodgers; D-Backs over Mets AL: Rays over Twins, Yankees over A’s; Rays over Yankees Champion: Rays NL MVP: 1. Carlos Beltran 2. Manny Ramirez 3. David Wright AL MVP: 1. Mark Teixeira 2. Grady Sizemore 3. Evan Longoria NL Cy Young: 1. Johan Santana 2. Dan Haren 3. Tim [...]

4. Seattle Mariners – I like their revamped outfield defense with Ichiro in right, Franklin Gutierrez in center, and Endy Chavez in left. They have a lot of fly ball pitchers and since they don’t really have much offensive firepower and they play in a huge ballpark, it should help keep games close. I particularly [...]

5. Kansas City Royals – This is not the best division in baseball by an stretch of the imagination (it’s neck-and-neck with the NL Central for fourth best) but it’s the one division in which any of the 5! possible final standings wouldn’t shock me. Any team could finish in any position. As for the [...]

5. Toronto Blue Jays – Poor Roy Halladay. The guy can make a case for being the best pitcher in baseball – it’s him and Johan, and Halladay has been so durable and such a workhorse – and unless he gets out of Toronto soon his prime is going to be wasted on teams that [...]

5. San Diego Padres – The Fathers have a great chance to run with the Pirates for the worst record in baseball this year. I mean, there’s only about 6 guys on this roster who would even make a mediocre team like the Toronto Blue Jays. Add that to the fact that Jake Peavy will [...]

6. Pittsburgh Pirates – Nate McLouth has been killed a lot of places for his absurdly undeserving gold glove and likely regression this year, but I do think his season was probably less of a fluke than Ryan Ludwick’s and he’ll probably be a solid player for years to come. But there’s really not much [...]

5. Washington Nationals – I like the future of Milledge and Dukes, and Adam Dunn will make a significant difference to the offense, but like Pat said this is probably the second best division in baseball and the Nats have a pretty atrocious roster. Hopefully for them Jordan Zimmerman can turn into a front-of-the rotation [...]

Obviously, we still have more college basketball things to do, but I wanted to start off our much anticipated baseball preview today. I will begin with the NL. EAST This is unquestionably the strongest division in the National League, and I’d say the second strongest in all of baseball behind only its east coast counterpart [...]
